CareerAarab ran through the youth ranks of AFC Tubize and RSC Anderlecht before joining the reserves of NEC Nijmegen. He received his first professional contract − a one-year deal − with NEC in 2007. Aarab made his league debut in a 5–0 loss against PSV Eindhoven, as an 84th-minute substitute for Jonas Olsson. He decided to leave NEC Nijmegen after not reaching a new agreement, and joined AEL in the Greek Super League.
