As of the 2000 census, its population was 3,065. HistoryNew Hampton Township was organized in 1857.[1] GeographyNew Hampton Township covers an area of {{convert|36.78|sqmi|km2}} and contains one incorporated settlement, New Hampton (the county seat), and the hamlet of Boyd.[2] According to the USGS, it contains three cemeteries: Boyd, Saint Josephs and Union. The stream of Plum Creek runs through this township.
