In January 2008 the Australian Communications and Media Authority allocated a broadcasting licence for 100.9 MHz to Peedac Pty Ltd. The callsign 6NME refers to the initials of Noongar Media Enterprises, a Peedac subsidiary.[1] The station's intended market is the local indigenous community and those interested in indigenous culture.[1][2][3][4] AffiliationsNoongar Radio is a member of IRCA, NIRS and the CBAA StaffJeff Michael is broadcaster of Drive from 2009 to present. Jeff was also a previous staff member of WAAMA Jeff is both Music Director and Program Manager at Noongar Radio. Jeremy Garlett the first broadcaster on Aboriginal radio in Western Australia (see 6AR) has a message of “mind, body, spirit, change” in his show “Afternoons With Jeremy Garlett”. Jeremy is also the station’s Community Engagement Officer. The 2 Norty Broz (Samuel Yombich Pilot Kickett and Jamahl Ryder) have been the station’s breakfast hosts 2016 to current.
