Norbert Patrick Hayes (November 21, 1896 – July 13, 1945) was a player in the National Football League for the Racine Legion and Green Bay Packers in 1922 and 1923. BiographyHayes was born on November 21, 1896 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.[1] He was the son of Patrick E. and Mary W. Hayes, née Taugher. He played high school football for Green Bay West High School. He then played at the collegiate level at Marquette University, where he studied engineering. He worked three years as a highway engineer in Walworth County, Wisconsin, and then for many years in Brown County, Wisconsin, where he started as maintenance engineer and in 1940 was named county highway commissioner. He married Genevieve Gagan on Aug. 16th, 1924, at Green Bay, Wisconsin. He died of a heart attack at age 48, on July 13, 1945. He is buried at Fort Howard Memorial Park in Green Bay. See also
