{{Infobox_gene}}Nucleoporin 107 (Nup107) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the NUP107 gene.[1][2][3] Function This gene encodes a member of the nucleoporin family. The protein is localized to the nuclear rim and is an essential component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC). All molecules entering or leaving the nucleus either diffuse through or are actively transported by the NPC. Alternate transcriptional splice variants of this gene have been observed but have not been thoroughly characterized.[3] Interactions NUP107 has been shown to interact with NUP133.[4][5] References 1. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Boehmer T, Enninga J, Dales S, Blobel G, Zhong H | title = Depletion of a single nucleoporin, Nup107, prevents the assembly of a subset of nucleoporins into the nuclear pore complex | journal = Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences of the United States of America | volume = 100 | issue = 3 | pages = 981–5 | date = Feb 2003 | pmid = 12552102 | pmc = 298712 | doi = 10.1073/pnas.252749899 }} 2. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Walther TC, Alves A, Pickersgill H, Loïodice I, Hetzer M, Galy V, Hülsmann BB, Köcher T, Wilm M, Allen T, Mattaj IW, Doye V | title = The conserved Nup107-160 complex is critical for nuclear pore complex assembly | journal = Cell | volume = 113 | issue = 2 | pages = 195–206 | date = Apr 2003 | pmid = 12705868 | pmc = | doi = 10.1016/S0092-8674(03)00235-6 }} 3. ^1 {{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: NUP107 nucleoporin 107kDa| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=57122| accessdate = }} 4. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Loïodice I, Alves A, Rabut G, Van Overbeek M, Ellenberg J, Sibarita JB, Doye V | title = The entire Nup107-160 complex, including three new members, is targeted as one entity to kinetochores in mitosis | journal = Molecular Biology of the Cell | volume = 15 | issue = 7 | pages = 3333–44 | date = Jul 2004 | pmid = 15146057 | pmc = 452587 | doi = 10.1091/mbc.E03-12-0878 }} 5. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Belgareh N, Rabut G, Baï SW, van Overbeek M, Beaudouin J, Daigle N, Zatsepina OV, Pasteau F, Labas V, Fromont-Racine M, Ellenberg J, Doye V | title = An evolutionarily conserved NPC subcomplex, which redistributes in part to kinetochores in mammalian cells | journal = The Journal of Cell Biology | volume = 154 | issue = 6 | pages = 1147–60 | date = Sep 2001 | pmid = 11564755 | pmc = 2150808 | doi = 10.1083/jcb.200101081 }}
