It is known from a skull and partial skeleton found in early Cenomanian-age rocks from Normandy, France. The rostrum of the skull was relatively short compared to other pholidosaurids. Oceanosuchus was described in 2007 by Hua and colleagues. The type species is O. boecensis.[1] References1. ^{{cite journal |last=Hua |first=S. |author2=Buffetaut, E. |author3=Legall, C. |author4= Rogron, P. |year=2007 |title=Oceanosuchus boecensis n. gen., n. sp., a marine pholidosaurid (Crocodylia, Mesosuchia) from the Lower Cenomanian of Normandy (western France) |journal=Bulletin de la Société Géologique de France |volume=178 |issue=6 |pages=503–513 |doi=10.2113/gssgfbull.178.6.503}} {{Portal|Paleontology}}{{Taxonbar|from=Q7076227}}{{paleo-archosaur-stub}} 4 : Late Cretaceous crocodylomorphs of Europe|Late Cretaceous reptiles of Europe|Dyrosaurids|Fossil taxa described in 2007 |
