Sir Walter Scott described Glen Lyon as the longest, loneliest and loveliest glen in Scotland.[4] ReservoirThe original natural loch was much expanded by a hydro-electric dam, part of the North of Scotland Hydro-Electric Board's Breadalbane scheme.
