}}Oxynoemacheilus panthera, the tiger loach[2] or the Damascus loach,[1] is a species of ray-finned fish in the genus Oxynoemacheilus.[3] It occurs in only two streams, the Nahr Baradá and Nahr al-A‘waj in the Damascus basin in Syria. It is thought that over 90% of the populations of the stone loach have been lost due to water abstraction and the drying up of its native watercourses, exacernated by lower rainfall due to cimate change.[1] References1. ^1 2 {{cite journal | author = Freyhof, J. | year = 2014 | title = Oxynoemacheilus panthera | journal = The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | volume = 2014 | page = e.T19429195A19849594 | doi = 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2014-1.RLTS.T19429195A19849594.en}} Downloaded on 03 January 2018. {{Taxonbar|from=Q2657459}}{{Cypriniformes-stub}}2. ^1 {{cite web | url = http://www.fishbase.org/summary/Oxynoemacheilus-panthera.html | title = Oxynoemacheilus panther (Heckel, 1843) | accessdate = 4 January 2018 | publisher = Fishbase | editor1 = Rainer Froese | editor2 = Daniel pauly | year = 2017}} 3. ^Kottelat, M.
