The subdistrict is located south of the city of Chiang Mai, along the western short of the Ping River. The Muang Chiang Mai Wetland is located along this river bank within the tambon territory. AdministrationThe tambon is subdivided into 13 administrative villages (Muban).
A small of the subdistrict is part of the city Chiang Mai, most of the area belongs to the subdistrict municipality (thesaban tambon) Pa Daet.
