It is a genus of five currently accepted species.[1] Pannoparmelia species have a foliose growth habit. EtymologyThe name Pannoparmelia comes from the Latin term pannosus, which means 'felt like texture'. This is a reference to the noticeably spongy hypothallus exhibited by species in this genus.[2] References1. ^{{Cite journal | last1 = Crespo | first1 = A.| last2 = Lumbsch | first2 = H.
