Pathankot airport serves national flights only. The airport, spread over an area of approximately 75 acres, is not well connected by public transport; only cabs are available. Pathankot Airport was inaugurated by Mr. Praful Patel, the then Aviation Minister of India, on 21 November 2006.[2] The facility was made possible by the efforts of Gurdaspur Member of Parliament and Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna,[3] who had planned to make Pathankot a tourist destination and industrial hub.[4] Commercial flights were resumed in April 2018 after a hiatus of nearly seven years.[5][6] by Alliance Air, the regional subsidiary of Air India under the Regional Connectivity Scheme.[7] Airlines and destinations{{Airport-dest-list|3rdcoltitle={{Abbr|Refs.|References}}|3rdcolunsortable=yes|Alliance Air|Delhi|{{cn|date=January 2019}} }} References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.thequint.com/india/2015/09/03/ludhiana-to-cooch-behar-an-inside-look-at-indias-ghost-airports|title=Ludhiana to Cooch Behar: An Inside Look at India’s Ghost Airports|publisher=}} {{Airports in India}}2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.tribuneindia.com/2006/20061122/punjab1.htm#2|title=The Tribune, Chandigarh, India - Punjab|website=www.tribuneindia.com}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://india.gov.in/my-government/indian-parliament/vinod-khanna|title=Vinod Khanna - National Portal of India|website=india.gov.in}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.hindustantimes.com/punjab/pathankot-airport-plain-empty/story-Qnl4J9nsrVWlRkivpRMAnM.html|title=Pathankot airport plain empty|date=14 October 2013|publisher=}} 5. ^https://www.hindustantimes.com/punjab/domestic-flights-to-resume-from-pathankot-airport-today/story-8ffwwUP8GoPXuwZoGZdk0H.html 6. ^https://www.aninews.in/videos/national/civil-aviation-minister-suresh-prabhu-inaugurates-flight-delhi-pathankot/ 7. ^https://www.aai.aero/en/rcs-udan 2 : Airports in Punjab, India|Transport in Pathankot |
