The area was traditionally part of Styria. It is now included with the rest of the municipality in the Lower Sava Statistical Region.[2] The local church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Oswald ({{lang-sl|sveti Ožbolt}}) and belongs to the Parish of Podsreda.
