The Pine Needles Lodge and Golf Club is a country club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. The club's golf course was designed by Donald Ross.[1] The club hosted the U.S. Women's Open in 1996, 2001, and 2007, yet staged the last Titleholders Championship in 1972.[2] Those tournaments were won by Annika Sörenstam, Karrie Webb, Cristie Kerr, and Sandra Palmer respectively. Pine Needles will host two future Women's championships: the 2019 U.S. Senior Women's Open and the 2022 U.S. Women's Open.[3] References1. ^{{cite news |last=Douglass |first=Laura |url= http://www.thepilot.com/business/elks-hire-legacy-to-manage-southern-pines-golf-club-no/article_0c725390-7963-11e7-9d34-335678cbc6fd.html |title=Elks Hire Legacy to Manage Southern Pines Golf Club, No Deal on Sale |work=Thepilot.com |date=August 4, 2017 |accessdate=October 7, 2017}} 2. ^{{cite news |last=Crouse |first=Karen |url= https://www.nytimes.com/2017/07/11/sports/golf/us-womens-open-trump-bedminster.html |title=On Trump’s Turf, U.S. Women’s Open Contenders Will Feel the Heat |work=The New York Times |date=July 11, 2017 |accessdate=October 7, 2017}} 3. ^USGA Announces Pine Needles at Host of 2022 U.S. Women's Open External links
