{{Infobox_gene}}Plexin-A2 is a protein that in humans is coded by the PLXNA2 gene.[1][2]This gene encodes a member of the plexin-A family of semaphorin co-receptors. Semaphorins are a large family of secreted or membrane-bound proteins that mediate repulsive effects on axon pathfinding during nervous system development. A subset of semaphorins are recognized by plexin-A/neuropilin transmembrane receptor complexes, triggering a cellular signal transduction cascade that leads to axon repulsion. This plexin-A family member is thought to transduce signals from semaphorin-3A and -3C.[2] In some studies, the PLXNA2 gene is associated with schizophrenia.[3] and anxiety.[4] References1. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Maestrini E, Tamagnone L, Longati P, Cremona O, Gulisano M, Bione S, Tamanini F, Neel BG, Toniolo D, Comoglio PM | title = A family of transmembrane proteins with homology to the MET-hepatocyte growth factor receptor | journal = Proc Natl Acad Sci USA | volume = 93 | issue = 2 | pages = 674–8 |date=Mar 1996 | pmid = 8570614 | pmc = 40111 | doi =10.1073/pnas.93.2.674 }} 2. ^1 {{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: PLXNA2 plexin A2| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=5362| accessdate = }} 3. ^Gene Overview of All Published Schizophrenia-Association Studies for PLXNA2 {{webarchive|url=https://web.archive.org/web/20090221130511/http://schizophreniaforum.org/res/sczgene/geneoverview.asp?geneid=259 |date=2009-02-21 }} - база данных SZGene, сайт Schizophrenia Research Forum 4. ^{{cite journal |vauthors=Wray NR, James MR, Mah SP, Nelson M, Andrews G, Sullivan PF, Montgomery GW, Birley AJ, Braun A, Martin NG |title=Anxiety and comorbid measures associated with PLXNA2 |journal=Arch.
