It lies approximately {{convert|5|km|mi|0}} east of Oleśnica, {{convert|12|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south of Staszów, and {{convert|60|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of the regional capital Kielce.[3] The village has a population of {{decrease}} 196. DemographyAccording to the 2002 Poland census, there were 208 people residing in Podlesie village, of whom 50% were male and 50% were female. In the village, the population was spread out with 25% under the age of 18, 39.9% from 18 to 44, 13.9% from 45 to 64, and 21.2% who were 65 years of age or older.[4]
