It lies approximately {{convert|8|km|mi|0}} west of Niedźwiedź, {{convert|29|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} west of Limanowa, and {{convert|51|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south of the regional capital Kraków.[1] The village has a population of around 2,100, and is a seat of the Gorce National Park. Polish writer Władysław Orkan was born here.
