{{Infobox_gene}}Serine/threonine-protein phosphatase 2A regulatory subunit B'' subunit beta is an enzyme that in humans is encoded by the PPP2R3B gene.[1][2] Function Protein phosphatase 2 (formerly named type 2A) is one of the four major Ser/Thr phosphatases and is implicated in the negative control of cell growth and division. Protein phosphatase 2 holoenzymes are heterotrimeric proteins composed of a structural subunit A, a catalytic subunit C, and a regulatory subunit B. The regulatory subunit is encoded by a diverse set of genes that have been grouped into the B/PR55, B'/PR61, and B''/PR72 families. These different regulatory subunits confer distinct enzymatic specificities and intracellular localizations to the holozenzyme. The product of this gene belongs to the B'' family. The B'' family has been further divided into subfamilies. The product of this gene belongs to the beta subfamily of regulatory subunit B''. Alternative splicing results in multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms.[2] Interactions PPP2R3B has been shown to interact with PPP2R1B,[3] PPP2R1A,[3][4] CDC6[5] and PPP2CA.[4][5] References 1. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Schiebel K, Meder J, Rump A, Rosenthal A, Winkelmann M, Fischer C, Bonk T, Humeny A, Rappold G | title = Elevated DNA sequence diversity in the genomic region of the phosphatase PPP2R3L gene in the human pseudoautosomal region | journal = Cytogenetics and Cell Genetics | volume = 91 | issue = 1-4 | pages = 224–30 | date = February 2001 | pmid = 11173861 | pmc = | doi = 10.1159/000056849 }} 2. ^1 {{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: PPP2R3B protein phosphatase 2 (formerly 2A), regulatory subunit B, beta| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=28227| accessdate = }} 3. ^1 {{cite journal | vauthors = Zhou J, Pham HT, Ruediger R, Walter G | title = Characterization of the Aalpha and Abeta subunit isoforms of protein phosphatase 2A: differences in expression, subunit interaction, and evolution | journal = The Biochemical Journal | volume = 369 | issue = Pt 2 | pages = 387–98 | date = Jan 2003 | pmid = 12370081 | pmc = 1223084 | doi = 10.1042/BJ20021244 }} 4. ^1 {{cite journal | vauthors = Goudreault M, D'Ambrosio LM, Kean MJ, Mullin MJ, Larsen BG, Sanchez A, Chaudhry S, Chen GI, Sicheri F, Nesvizhskii AI, Aebersold R, Raught B, Gingras AC | title = A PP2A phosphatase high density interaction network identifies a novel striatin-interacting phosphatase and kinase complex linked to the cerebral cavernous malformation 3 (CCM3) protein | journal = Molecular & Cellular Proteomics | volume = 8 | issue = 1 | pages = 157–71 | date = Jan 2009 | pmid = 18782753 | pmc = 2621004 | doi = 10.1074/mcp.M800266-MCP200 }} 5. ^1 {{cite journal | vauthors = Yan Z, Fedorov SA, Mumby MC, Williams RS | title = PR48, a novel regulatory subunit of protein phosphatase 2A, interacts with Cdc6 and modulates DNA replication in human cells | journal = Molecular and Cellular Biology | volume = 20 | issue = 3 | pages = 1021–9 | date = Feb 2000 | pmid = 10629059 | pmc = 85219 | doi = 10.1128/MCB.20.3.1021-1029.2000 }}
