It is located in the north of the republic. The area of the district is {{convert|441.29|km2|sp=us}}.[3] Its administrative center is the town of Beslan.[1] Population: {{ru-census2010|57,063|;}} 55,685 (2002 Census);[4] {{su-census1989|49,314|.}} The population of Beslan accounts for 64.4% of the district's total population.
