On September 8, 1895, the first Presentation Convent School in the Punjab was opened by three Irish religious sisters. Today in Pakistan there are many Presentation schools catering for the educational needs of around thirteen thousand children in Urdu- and English-medium schools. There are Presentation Convent schools in Presentation Convent High School [Peshawar, Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Sargodha, (Khushab district), Wah, Risalpur, Mingora (Swat) and in Sindh. In the 1960's it was totally an only-girls school. The boys school was called Saint Mary High School, Peshawar. From the period 1964 to 1970 Mother Malecky, Mother Baptist, and Sister Agatha were the principals. During this period, the senior teachers included Sir Dost Mohammad, Science teacher; Mrs Toor, Urdu Teacher; Miss Nazaqat, Islamiat teacher; Miss Meraj; Miss Feroze; Sir Hyi, Science teacher; Its most famous alumnus (1932–35) is Major-General Naseerullah Khan Babar, a former Interior Minister of Pakistan from 1993-1996.
