Each year, the top finishing teams in the First Division are promoted to the Pro League, and the lowest finishing teams are relegated to the Second Division. Al-Wehda are the most recent champions winning their fourth title during the 2017–18 season. Hajer and Al-Wehda are the most successful team with 4 titles each. Promotion and relegationThe winner and runner-up are promoted to the Professional League directly, and the third-place will qualify for the promotion play-offs against the team which finishes 12th in Professional League. The bottom three clubs are relegated to the Second Division.
