}}Princess Elisabeth Helene of Thurn and Taxis[1][2] ({{lang-de|Elisabeth Helene, Prinzessin von Thurn und Taxis}}[2]) (15 December 1903, Regensburg, Kingdom of Bavaria[1][2] – 22 October 1976, Munich, Bavaria, Germany[1][2]) was a Princess of Thurn and Taxis by birth and a Princess and Duchess of Saxony, Margravine of Meissen, and titular Queen consort of Saxony through her marriage to Friedrich Christian, Margrave of Meissen. Elisabeth was the sixth child[1][2] of Albert, 8th Prince of Thurn and Taxis and his wife Archduchess Margarethe Klementine of Austria.[1][2]

Marriage and issue

Elisabeth married Prince Friedrich Christian of Saxony, second eldest child and son[1][2] of Frederick Augustus III of Saxony and his wife Archduchess Luise of Austria, Princess of Tuscany,[1][2] on 16 June 1923 in Regensburg, Bavaria.[1][2] Elisabeth and Friedrich had five children:[1][2]

  • Maria Emanuel, Margrave of Meissen (1926–2012); married Princess Anastasia of Anhalt
  • Princess Maria Josepha of Saxony (born 1928)
  • Princess Anna of Saxony (1929–2012); married Roberto de Afif, Prince of Gessaphe
  • Albert, Margrave of Meissen (1934–2012); married Elmira Henke
  • Princess Mathilde of Saxony (1936–2018); married Prince Johannes Heinrich of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha
