In 13th century, the territory of the Old Prussian Balts east of the lower Wistula had been conquered by the Teutonic Order which erected an Ordensburg. From the Second Peace of Thorn (1466) to the First Partition of Poland (1772), the area belonged to Royal Prussia, a part of Kingdom of Poland. In 1772, it came to the (Brandenburg) Prussian Province of West Prussia and with it in 1871 to the German Empire. After World War II, according to demands of the Soviet Union at Potsdam Conference, the town was annexed by Poland and its German inhabitants were expelled. The village has a population of 119.
