It was built by Péter Pólus,[2] a Hungarian entrepreneur.[3][4] It is privately owned.[5] The course is situated on a {{convert|178|acre|sqmi km2|2|abbr=on}}, protected[8] nature reserve,[1] with a driving range with 16 sheltered stands and both pitching and putting greens, Polus Palace calls itself a "golf hotel".[1] It hosted the Polus Palace Masters Cup golf tournament,[1] sponsored by Chevrolet in 2005.
