The municipality covers an area of {{convert|7.26|km2|sqmi}}, and has a population of 1,453 (as at 3 July 2006). Předklášteří lies approximately {{convert|23|km|mi|0}} north-west of Brno and {{convert|165|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of Prague. The main historical and tourist attraction is the Porta coeli Convent - a 13th-century women monastery with unique architecture in the Czech Republic. Getting thereBy carFrom Brno use road 43 (E461) direction Svitavy. Use exit Kuřim and Tišnov and follow the road 385 through Kuřim and Tišnov. In Tišnov there is a traffic circle—continue straight (direction Předklášteří and Nové město na Moravě). Předklášteří is the first village right after exiting Tišnov (cca 2 km). After entering Předklášteří, turn left at the first crossroad to the village center. In the village you can find a local street signs, which will help you to locate the monastery. By public transportFrom Brno take train line S3 and get off in Tišnov.
