GeographyThe term Quad Cities is used to apply to several areas that have four cities of similar size and importance within close geographic proximity. Among these are: - In Sweden: Uddevalla, Trollhättan, Lysekil, and Vänersborg, are locally referred to as "the Quad Cities" (Fyrstad).
- In Alabama: Florence-Muscle Shoals Metropolitan Area, with Florence, Muscle Shoals, Sheffield, and Tuscumbia, being referred to as "the Quad Cities".
- In Iowa and Illinois: the Quad Cities are Davenport and Bettendorf, Iowa, and Rock Island and Moline, Illinois. It also includes a fifth member, East Moline, Illinois.
- The U.S. Census Bureau designated Quad Cities Metropolitan Area comprising the cities and towns in this area of Iowa and Illinois.
- In Idaho and Washington: the Quad Cities are and Clarkston, Washington, Pullman, Washington, Lewiston, Idaho, and Moscow, Idaho.
- In Minnesota: the Quad Cities of Minnesota are Virginia, Eveleth, Gilbert, and Mountain Iron.
