The municipality covers an area of {{convert|14.29|km2|sqmi}}, and has a population of 468 (as at 2 October 2006). Rabí lies approximately {{convert|28|km|mi|0}} south-east of Klatovy, {{convert|55|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south of Plzeň, and {{convert|106|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-west of Prague. HistoryUntil 1918, the village was part of the Austrian monarchy (Austria side after the compromise of 1867), in the Strakonitz (Strakonice) district, one of the 94 Bezirkshauptmannschaften in Bohemia.
