Established by the President's Ordinance No. 58 of 1986, the bank started functioning on 15 March 1987. The Bank's headquarters are located in Rajshahi.[2] The Bank was made for farmers of Rangpur and Rajshahi division ManagementManagement of the bank is entrusted by the government to a seven-member board of directors. The managing director is the chief executive of the bank.
