Ramnagar comes under the constituency of Musheerabad. It is mainly a residential area which was once located very near to industries like VST (Vazeer Sultan Tobacco, Golkunda Cigarette factory and Charminar Cigarette factory which comprisingly is called Azamabad Industrial area). It is 2 km from Osmania University, RTC Cross Road, Musheerabad residential area and 5 km from Secunderabad Railway Station. All the listed things are within 10 km circumference from Hussain Sagar Lake, Tankbund, Nampally, Necklace Road, Secretariat, Reserve bank, AG office, Telephone bavan, Birla mandir, Gymkana, Rani Gunj, Begumpet, Koti, Abids, Dilsuknagar, Tarnaka, Ravindra Bharathi, Golconda Fort and name any old landmark (Salarjung museum, Charminar, Mecca masid). The mixture of Old city and non old city culture can seen over here. Commercial areaThere are many shops which cater to all the needs of the people. The popular IIT academy of Chukka Ramaiah is located near here at Nallakunta. Ramnagar has two interesting landmarks, one is Ramnagar Chowrastha, chowrashta means "X" Road, although there is no X road, but it was famously known as Chowrastha. The other one is Community Hall, which was the only place to perform the marriages and other functions for the people of surrounding areas. Over time, it transformed into an E-seva and the building is serving the people in other ways. Another landmark in Ramnagar is Srujana Enterprises who are authorised service providers for Godrej Appliances for over a decade. They are known for their quality service & sell several brands of Air conditioners, inverters & water purifiers. Chandra Mohan kirana and general stores and Amaravati rice shops are the famous store for groceries and also known for the quality they provide who are supplying groceries for more than 25 years now. Sri Marudhar Kirana and General Stores run by an proprietor who basically hails from the state of rajasthan is famous for its quality products - majorly they are known for maintaining a variety of Chips i.e. Tomato, Onion and Tri-D among others and also different variants of dry fruits. Srinivasa show room is very famous at Ramnagar for shopping.and The Ramnagar Ramalayam temple also one of the famous place. TransportThe TSRTC it has bus depot, hence buses transport to all parts of the city. The closest MMTS Train station is at Jamia Osmania. Famous St.Pious 'X' Girls High School from past 50 years, several others schools like Mothers high school, Luna high school, Holy trinity etc. are located at Ramnagar.
