He played representative level rugby union (RU) for Wales, and at club level for Newport RFC, as a hooker, i.e. number 2, and club level rugby league (RL) for St. Helens, as a {{rlp|hk}}, i.e. number 9, during the era of contested scrums.[2] BackgroundReg Blakemore was born in Newport, Wales, and he died aged 81 in Parr, St. Helens, Lancashire, England.
