{{Infobox_gene}}Telomere-associated protein RIF1 is a protein that in humans is encoded by the RIF1 gene.[1][2][3]RIF1 and RIF2 cap the chromosome ends (telomeres) in yeast.[4] In higher eukaryotes, Rif1 is involved in DNA damage response, organisation of chromatin architecture and the regulation of replication timing. RIF1 has been shown to bind to RNA in the nucleus.[5] References 1. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Silverman J, Takai H, Buonomo SB, Eisenhaber F, de Lange T | title = Human Rif1, ortholog of a yeast telomeric protein, is regulated by ATM and 53BP1 and functions in the S-phase checkpoint | journal = Genes & Development | volume = 18 | issue = 17 | pages = 2108–19 | date = September 2004 | pmid = 15342490 | pmc = 515289 | doi = 10.1101/gad.1216004 }} 2. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Adams IR, McLaren A | title = Identification and characterisation of mRif1: a mouse telomere-associated protein highly expressed in germ cells and embryo-derived pluripotent stem cells | journal = Developmental Dynamics | volume = 229 | issue = 4 | pages = 733–44 | date = April 2004 | pmid = 15042697 | pmc = | doi = 10.1002/dvdy.10471 }} 3. ^{{cite web | title = Entrez Gene: RIF1 RAP1 interacting factor homolog (yeast)| url = https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/sites/entrez?Db=gene&Cmd=ShowDetailView&TermToSearch=55183| accessdate = }} 4. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Ribeyre C, Shore D | title = Anticheckpoint pathways at telomeres in yeast | journal = Nature Structural & Molecular Biology | volume = 19 | issue = 3 | pages = 307–13 | year = 2012 | pmid = 22343724 | doi = 10.1038/nsmb.2225 }} 5. ^{{cite journal | vauthors = Conrad T, Albrecht AS, de Melo Costa VR, Sauer S, Meierhofer D, Ørom UA | title = Serial interactome capture of the human cell nucleus | journal = Nature Communications | volume = 7 | pages = 11212 | date = 2016-01-01 | pmid = 27040163 | doi = 10.1038/ncomms11212 | pmc=4822031}}
