释义 |
The River E is a river in the Highlands of Scotland. It begins in the north-west of the Monadh Liath, to the south-east of Loch Ness. It runs in a north-westerly direction for about 10 km, before flowing into Loch Mhòr.[1][2][3] The river has a small hydro-electric scheme. This run-of-the-river scheme has a capacity of 3MW and is operated by RWE Npower. Construction of the scheme began in 2006, and it was commissioned in 2007.[4] The River E is among the shortest place names in the world.[5] References{{commons category|River E}}1. ^Ordnance Survey 1:50,000 scale Landranger map sheet 26 Inverness {{coord|57.21891|N|4.46082|W|display=title|region:GB}}{{Highland-geo-stub}}{{Scotland-river-stub}}2. ^Ordnance Survey 1:25,000 scale Explorer 3. ^Ordnance Survey 1:10,000 scale StreetView 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.rwe.com/web/cms/en/313042/rwe-npower-renewables/sites/projects-in-operation/hydro/river-e/summary/|title=River E Hydro Scheme|author=|date=|website=|publisher=RWE Npower|accessdate=29 January 2011|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20110401121208/http://www.rwe.com/web/cms/en/313042/rwe-npower-renewables/sites/projects-in-operation/hydro/river-e/summary/|archivedate=1 April 2011|df=}} 5. ^{{cite book|last=Ash|first=Russell|title=Boring, Botty and Spong|url=https://books.google.com/books?id=bb-UfSQy7xYC&pg=PA70|date=10 November 2011|publisher=RHCP|isbn=978-1-4090-9739-6|page=70}} 1 : Rivers of Highland (council area) |
