Based out of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, the Royal Knights play their home games at Terry Sawchuk Memorial Arena. HistoryEast Kildonan Knights owner John Haasbeek folded his team in April 1981 after nine seasons. Haasbeek was then approached by Barry Bonni (Manitoba Hockey Hall of Fame Inductee 2017) about keeping a team in the area. The two worked together and formed the new River East Royal Knights.[1] The Knights have been to the league finals twelve times, winning seven Jack McKenzie Trophy championships.
