It is the administrative capital of Roghun district in the central part of the Region of Republican Subordination.[1] The population of Roghun in 2007 is estimated at 9,600.[2] ClimateRoghun has a Warm Summer Continental Climate (Köppen: Dsb) and experiences wet and cold winters with dry cool summers. The average annual temperature is 9 °C (48.2 °F). The warmest month is August with an average temperature of 29.7 °C (85.5 °F) and the coolest month is January with an average temperature of -5.5 °C (22.1 °F). The average annual precipitation is 877.6mm (34.6") and has an average of 84.5 days with precipitation.
