The masculine Ronald is derived from the Old Norse Rögnvaldr, which is composed of the elements regin ("advice", "decision") and valdr ("ruler").[1] The feminine Veronica is derived from a form of Berenice,[2] which is derived from the Greek Berenikē, which is in turn derived from the Greek Pherenīkē.
