It was founded by Joseph Woolley, who had been Principal of the short-lived School of Mathematics and Naval Construction in Portsmouth (1848–1853). In 1873 the School moved to the Royal Naval College, Greenwich, then in 1967 to University College London. Many of its graduates entered the Royal Corps of Naval Constructors. The title FRSNA is an abbreviation for Fellow of the Royal School of Naval Architecture. {{coord|51.484|-0.005|type:edu_region:GB-GRE|display=title}}References1. ^{{cite web|title=PORTSMOUTH DOCKYARD SCHOOL |year=2010|url=http://www.portsmouthdockyard.org.uk/PORTSMOUTH%20DOCKYARD%20SCHOOL.pdf|format=pdf|publisher=portsmouthdockyard.org.uk|accessdate=28 May 2014}} {{Admiralty Department|state=collapsed}}{{UK-school-stub}}{{UK-mil-stub}} 4 : Educational institutions established in 1864|Naval architecture|Training establishments of the Royal Navy|Marine engineering organizations |
