|synonyms_ref = [2][3] }}Rubus ulmifolius subsp. sanctus, commonly called holy bramble,[4] is a bramble native to parts of Asia and Europe.[2] This plant is very long lived. An instance of it can be found at the Chapel of the Burning Bush on Mount Sinai, where it is revered as the original burning bush of the Bible. This longevity and location lead to its Latin name.[5][6] Chemistry3,6-Di-O-caffeoylglucose, 1-O-caffeoylxylose and 2,3-O-hexahydroxydiphenoyl-4,6-O-sanguisorboyl-(α/β)-glucose (an ellagitannin constituted with sanguisorbic acid), are found in R. ulmifolius subsp. sanctus.[7]References1. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.tropicos.org/Name/50251845|title=Tropicos.org}} {{Commons category|Rubus sanguineus}}{{Wikispecies}}{{Taxonbar|from=Q1195518}}2. ^1 {{GRIN | accessdate = 16 January 2018}} 3. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.theplantlist.org/tpl/record/tro-50251845|title=The Plant List: A Working List of All Plant Species}} 4. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.wildflowers.co.il/english/plant.asp?ID=98|title=Rubus sanguineus|publisher=Wildflowers of Israel}} 5. ^{{cite web|title=Places of Peace and Power|url=http://sacredsites.com/africa/egypt/mount_sinai.html|accessdate=15 October 2014}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=Chapel of the Burning Bush|url=http://www.geographia.com/egypt/sinai/burningbush.htm|accessdate=15 October 2014}} 7. ^Caffeoyl sugar esters and an ellagitannin from Rubus sanctus.
