The county association is one of 18 chapters of the Home Builders Association of Tennessee, a non profit trade association comprising professional builders, developers, and associated firms engaged directly or indirectly in home building, remodeling, and light commercial construction. The Rutherford County association is also a chapter of the National Association of Home Builders, a trade association based Washington, D.C. whose mission is to enhance the climate for housing and the building industry. Chief among the national association's goals is providing and expanding opportunities for all consumers to have safe, decent and affordable housing.[2] ProgramsCertified Professional Builders is a program for builders and remodelers seeking continuing education and who are committed to achieving higher levels of customer satisfaction. These builders have proven experience and exemplary track records, and each member has met a rigorous application process, including reference and credit checks, personal interview process, financial analysis, and supplier review.[3] Home Builders Care of Rutherford County is a non-profit charitable foundation of the Rutherford County Home Builders Association. It is the official sponsor of the U.S. Marine Corps Toys for Tots program in Rutherford County, serving nearly 2,000 needy children annually, since 2004.
