"Sailing the Seas Depends on the Helmsman" ({{zh|c=《大海航行靠舵手》|p=Dàhǎi hángxíng kào duòshǒu}}) is the English-language title of a popular Chinese revolutionary song which was written by Wang Shuangyin in 1964. This song was commonly sung by the public, especially Red Guards during the Cultural Revolution (1966-1976)^[1] in praise of Maoism and the Communist Party. Like many revolutionary songs, the single verse of Sailing the Seas Depends on the Helmsman was most often sung repeatedly.

雨露滋潤禾苗壯，

幹革命靠的是毛澤東思想。

魚兒離不開水呀，

wànwùshēng zhǎng kào tàiyáng.

yǔlù zīrùn hémiáo zhuàng,

gàn gémìng kào de shì máozédōng sīxiǎng.

yú'ér lí bùkāi shuǐyā,

guā'ér lí bùkāi yāng.

gémìng qúnzhòng lí bùkāi gòngchǎndǎng.

máozédōng sīxiǎng shì bùluò de tàiyáng.

Sailing seas depends on the helmsman,

Life and growth depends on the sun.

Rain and dewdrops nourish the crops,

Making revolution depends on Mao Zedong Thought.

Fish cannot leave the water,

Nor melons leave the vines.

The revolutionary masses cannot do without the Communist Party.

Mao Zedong Thought is the sun that forever shines.
