She was awarded the MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) in the 2005 Queen's Birthday Honours List for her services to Regional Broadcasting.[1] In October 2015, she was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Letters degree in recognition of her work in broadcasting and with local charities by the University of Winchester. She is described as a "top notch journalist and someone you can trust to tell you the news without fear or favour" [5] Taylor appeared in The Vagina Monologues during its UK run at Southampton's Mayflower Theatre in 2010, for which she received considerable critical acclaim.[6] References1. ^1 2 {{cite web|title=Hampshire Life|url=http://hampshire.greatbritishlife.co.uk/article/sally-taylor-interview-south-today-bbc-solent-presenter-6634/|website=Hampshire.greatbritishlife.co.uk|accessdate=22 March 2013}} 2. ^1 {{cite web|title=BBC Presenters : Sally Taylor|url=http://www.bbc.co.uk/southtoday/content/articles/2007/01/04/sally_taylor_feature.shtml|website=Bbc.co.uk|accessdate=22 March 2013}} 3. ^{{cite web|title=Sally Taylor (VII)|url=https://www.imdb.com/name/nm2430543/|website=IMDb.com|accessdate=22 March 2013}} 4. ^{{cite web|title=Abbey Old Girls|author=The Abbey School|url=http://www.theabbey.co.uk/browse.asp?catID=1238&parent_id=1346|website=Theabbey.co.uk|accessdate=2006-09-05|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20061009110213/http://www.theabbey.co.uk/browse.asp?catID=1238&parent_id=1346|archivedate=9 October 2006|df=dmy-all}} 5. ^{{cite web|author=Michael Carr |url=http://dailyecho.co.uk/news/13883381.TV_anchor_honoured_by_Hampshire_university/ |title=BBC news reader Sally Taylor received an honorary doctorate from the University of Winchester (From Daily Echo) |website=Dailyecho.co.uk |date=2015-10-20 |accessdate=2016-12-23}} 6. ^{{cite web|title=BBC South Today presenter Sally Taylor takes to the stage|url=http://www.chichester.co.uk/what-s-on/interview-bbc-south-today-presenter-sally-taylor-takes-to-the-stage-1-1515323|publisher=Chichester Observer|accessdate=24 July 2013}} External links
