}} Salvia evansiana is a perennial plant that is native to Sichuan and Yunnan provinces in China, found growing on alpine meadows, hillsides, and forests at elevations from {{convert|3400|to|4300|m|ft|abbr=on}}. It has erect stems growing {{convert|13|to|45|cm|in|abbr=on}} tall, with ovate to triangular-ovate leaves that are {{convert|2|to|11|cm|in|abbr=on}} long and {{convert|1|to|11|cm|in|abbr=on}} wide. Inflorescences are racemes or panicles that are {{convert|10|to|20|cm|in|abbr=on}} long, with a straight corolla that is {{convert|2.6|to|3.5|cm|in|abbr=on}} long. There are two varieties, with slight differences in bract and calyx size. The most notable difference is in the color of the corolla: Salvia evansiana var. evansiana has a flower that is blue-purple, with some yellow at the base. Salvia evansiana var. scaposa has a white or cream-yellow flower.[1] Notes1. ^{{cite journal|year=1994|title=Lamiaceae|journal=Flora of China|publisher=Harvard University|volume=17|page=156|url=http://hua.huh.harvard.edu/china/mss/volume17/Lamiaceae.published.pdf|deadurl=yes|archiveurl=https://web.archive.org/web/20100714110202/http://hua.huh.harvard.edu/china/mss/volume17/Lamiaceae.published.pdf|archivedate=2010-07-14|df=}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q5231608}}{{Lamiaceae-stub}} 2 : Salvia|Flora of China |
