Plants grow into mats up to {{convert|90|cm|ft|abbr=on}} wide, with erect woody stems. The plant reaches {{convert|15|cm|in|abbr=on}} tall, though the flowering stems reach {{convert|30|to|45|cm|in|abbr=on}}. The oval leaves are grey-green, {{convert|3|cm|in|abbr=on}} long by {{convert|2|cm|in|abbr=on}} wide, with a rugose upper surface and whitish hairy underside.
