It was opened on 6 March 1893 by the Marquis of Salisbury. The station had a hydraulic lift bridge which enabled a section of track to be lifted up to allow large vehicles to pass underneath.[1] The station was an early closure, closing in 1896, to be replaced by nearby Huskisson Dock and Nelson Dock, located to the north and south respectively.[2] No trace of this station remains. {{Disused Rail Start}}{{Rail line |previous=Nelson Dock|next=Huskisson Dock|route=Liverpool Overhead Railway |col={{LOR colour}} }}{{end box}}References1. ^{{cite book|title=The Docker's Umbrella|first=Paul|last=Bolger|publisher=The Bluecoat Press|year=1992|edition=2007|isbn=1-872568-05-X|oclc=59831132|ref=harv}} 2. ^{{cite book |title= Portrait of the Liverpool Overhead Railway |author= Adrian Jarvis |publisher= Ian Allan Publishing |isbn=0711024685 |year= 1996}} External links
