DescriptionDwarf naupaka is a low, flat-lying perennial herb. Its older stems are somewhat woody, and the succulent leaves are oval-shaped, relatively far apart, and smooth or somewhat scaly with rounded tips. Flowers occur in branched inflorescences from the point of leaf attachment in groups of one to three.[3] ConservationToday, dwarf naupaka exists only on Maui and two offshore islets. Historically, it could be found on six islands. The total population is less than 300 plants, making dwarf naupaka an endangered species.[3] {{commons category|Scaevola coriacea}}References1. ^{{GRIN | accessdate=2009-11-21}} {{Taxonbar|from=Q7429630}}{{Asterales-stub}}2. ^{{PLANTS|id=SCCO7|taxon=Scaevola coriacea|accessdate=6 November 2015}} 3. ^1 {{cite web |url=http://www.centerforplantconservation.org/collection/CPC_ViewProfile.asp?CPCNum=3835 |title=Scaevola coriacea |work=CPC National Collection Plant Profiles |publisher=Center for Plant Conservation |date=2008-01-29 |accessdate=2009-11-21}} 5 : Scaevola (plant)|Biota of Maui|Endemic flora of Hawaii|Plants described in 1842|Taxa named by Thomas Nuttall |
