}}Schistura desmotes is a species of ray-finned fish in the stone loach genus Schistura. It is found in Ratchaburi Province of Thailand where it inhabits streams with a moderate current and a gravel or stone substrate.[1] The specific name desmotes mean "prisoner" and refers to the 7–9 broad dark-brown transverse bands on the fish's body, which reminded Fowler of a striped prisoner's uniform.[3] References1. ^1 {{cite journal | author = Juffe Bignoli, D. | year = 2012 | title = Schistura desmotes | journal = The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species | doi = 10.2305/IUCN.UK.2012-1.RLTS.T180876A1672828.en }} Downloaded on 13 January 2018. {{Taxonbar|from=Q3763453}}{{Cypriniformes-stub}}2. ^{{FishBase|Schistura|desmotes}} 3. ^{{cite web | url = http://www.etyfish.org/loaches3/ | title = Order CYPRINIFORMES: Family NEMACHEILIDAE (Stone Loaches) | accessdate = 13 January 2018 | publisher = Christopher Scharpf and Kenneth J.
