Plot

{{More plot|date=August 2014}}

Mad scientist Dr. Nathan Sands (Eric Roberts) is hired by the United States military to design a new living weapon. His creation, dubbed "Sharktopus," is a hybrid creature with the head of a shark and the tentacles of an octopus. Initial testing of Sharktopus goes well, but when its control device is destroyed, it escapes and goes on a killing spree. Sands's daughter Nicole (Sara Malakul Lane) teams up with a journalist to warn an unbelieving public of the danger of Sharktopus and destroy the creature before it claims more victims.

Ultimately, Dr. Sands sacrifices himself to protect his daughter from Sharktopus. She uses a kill switch programmed into a chip inside Sharktopus's brain, causing the monster to explode.
