International careerHe made his ODI debut in Providence, and after Zimbabwe posted a competitive score of 256/5, Shingirai held his nerve in the final over of the match, to take two wickets as Zimbabwe pulled off a 2 run victory, with Masakadza ending with figures of 3/36, taking the wickets of Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dwayne Smith and Sulieman Benn.[2] He was then announced in the squad that would play Ireland in August 2010.[3] He scored 46 not out as Zimbabwe lost the match but won the series 2–1. Masakadaza was placed in as a replacement for Charles Coventry in that match. He was subsequently selected for the two match T20 series against South Africa and participated in the Second T20 at the expense of Ed Rainsford. Masakadza clean bowled David Miller and also took the wicket of Robin Peterson against a weakened South Africa who were without Dale Steyn, Jacques Kallis & Morne Morkel.[4] In the subsequent ODI series he took 4 wickets in his opening match the wickets being of Graeme Smith, Colin Ingram, Albie Morkel and David Miller. Masakadza was included in Zimbabwe's squad for the 2011 World Cup,[5] and played in one match, Zimbabwe's seven-wicket defeat to Pakistan.[6] He along with Ian Nicolson set the record for the highest last-wicket stand in ODIs for Zimbabwe(60)[7] References1. ^http://www.espncricinfo.com/zimbabwe-v-bangladesh-2013/content/current/story/631614.html 2. ^{{cite web|url=http://www.cricinfo.com/ci/content/player/343529.html|title=Player Profile: Shingirai Masakadza|last=|first=|date=|website=|publisher=Cricinfo|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=|accessdate=20 May 2010}} 3. ^http://www.cricinfo.com/zimbabwe/content/story/477629.html 4. ^http://www.cricinfo.com/south-africa-v-zimbabwe-2010/engine/current/match/463142.html 5. ^{{cite news|url=http://www.iol.co.za/sport/cricket/world/zim-suffer-ervine-blow-1.1024460|title=Zim suffer Ervine blow|date=10 February 2011|work=Independent Online (South Africa)|accessdate=13 January 2012}} 6. ^{{cite web|url=http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/343529.html?class=2;template=results;type=allround;view=match|title=Statistics / Statsguru / SW Masakadza / One-Day Internationals|publisher=ESPNcricinfo|accessdate=13 January 2012}} 7. ^{{Cite news|url=http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/records/fow/highest_partnerships_by_wicket.html?class=2;id=9;type=team|title=Cricket Records {{!}} Records {{!}} / {{!}} Zimbabwe {{!}} One-Day Internationals {{!}} Highest partnerships by wicket {{!}} ESPN Cricinfo|last=|first=|date=|work=Cricinfo|access-date=18 August 2017|archive-url=|archive-date=|dead-url=}} External links
