On April 16, 1987, it was named after and dedicated to Otis A. Singletary, the eighth president of the University of Kentucky.[2] The Singletary Center offers a variety of music performances (orchestral, choral, jazz, rock, world, etc.) as well as dance, comedy, and lecture events.
