The Anson Baronetcy 'of Birch Hall' was created for him on 30 September 1831.[2] He was the third son of George Anson; his elder brothers were Thomas Anson, 1st Viscount Anson and General Sir George Anson.[3] On 26 January 1815 he married Louisa Frances Mary, daughter of John Dickenson. They had children:
