Sloup lies approximately {{convert|9|km|mi|0}} north-east of Blansko, {{convert|27|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} north of Brno, and {{convert|183|km|mi|0|abbr=on}} south-east of Prague. Approximately 0,7 miles from Sloup, Sloupsko-šošůvské caves are located, with the Kůlna Cave – the cave that became a remarkable European Paleolithic site since the 1880s. References
