释义 |
The extremely rare (12 total built) Mercedes-Benz M950F was a normally aspirated Wankel engine mounted in experimental Mercedes-Benz C111 vehicles, built in 1969-70. There were two versions: 3-rotor engine ({{convert|600|cc|cuin|abbr=on|disp=or|lk=on}} each) with power output of {{convert|280|hp|abbr=on}} at 7000 rpm, and a later version 4-rotor engine ({{convert|600|cc|cuin|abbr=on|disp=or}} each) with power output of {{convert|350|hp|abbr=on}} at 7000 rpm. The experimental Mercedes-Benz C111 containing the (code named M950F) engine was shown to the public at the 1969 Frankfurt International Motor Show. This was a totally experimental car from Daimler-Benz. The company dropped Wankel rotary development mainly due to poor fuel consumption in this engine,[1] an unacceptable feature in the post-1973 oil crisis world. It was replaced by a turbocharged diesel piston engine.
